Whilst thinking of a concept to go in our film, the notion of a love loss story was a main theme to work with the melancholic style. With help from my sisters I made lots and lots of made up letters referring to a lover, the love of the designer and love of his clothes. Sequences of letters being torn up and burnt are ideas we will definitely try and also bleeding ink from the letters and following it swirling and running into the sea.
I drew mini illustrations of potential Marko Mitanovski interpretations to give the letters a little meaning but we think the idea of mysterious unknown hand written script is more interesting. The illustrations did make a direct link to the work of our designer and his promo for his collection which saw ink spilling from the lips and eyes. The drawings make this connection in our story, and act as a device to be continuously and subconsciously promoting the designer.
