Presentation Day

After discussing what we have learnt over the last week Heidi and i have realised it is not possible to re-shoot as the cost is too high, on average we have spent about £300 between us to get what we hope to be a quality made film. I will later in the month get my bank statement and high light the total costs.

Presentation tutorial with Geraldine for feedback:
We found that throughout this project things we had planned would change or not be possible, this was so during our presentation of progress we were unable to at first show our film clips on another computer, nor were we able to open our blogs to show our progess to the class. Geraldine found us at lunch time and helped us to save our work as a formate to be opened on all computers but still allow us to be able to return and continuing editing. We leanrt how long the final edit will take and to leave lots of time for the editing process getting into Uni early and leaving late to.
A comment was made that we should have shot vertically, to avoid black lines down either side of the the frame when showing this footage on film. However we knew this when filming and purpously filmed this way to get the effect we wanted. Marko makes his models look tall and exaggerated capturing the whole outfit from below, so to display our clothing and showcase the time and detail that went into the production we wanted to get shots like this. We believe with clever editing and overlapping the back will add to the effect of our film. Overall the feedback was completely positive and Geraldine felt we had amazing bits of footage which needs to edited. She commented we needed to leave more frames either side of the footage to let in 'mistakes' that look amazing, and give the audience time to be aware of what is happening and a moment to react to it. We come away today feeling confident, we have material which is good enough to produce an amazing film, with extreme and dedicated edditing!

We finished the day with lecture from Dennis about 'The event.' Due to the fact Heidi and myself afttened the presentations and attended our tutorials and all the clases (with the exception of our filming dates) we could choose the role we wish to take on when orgainising our event in which the whole year presents our films to a handpicked guestlist. We both coincidently wanted to do PR as first choice and Events as the second. This is an exciting prospect and a great opportunity to network for us but right now the editing seems to be the number one focus, and 'The event' alomost another stress added on to this stage of film production.
